As part of the 2015 European Development Days, the CTA in collaboration with GIZ, SNV, UNIDO and COLEACP will organise a side event on the subject of “Value chains for value gains: Multi-stakeholder partnerships to boost agricultural growth”. This event, which will take place on Thursday 04 June 2015 from 09:00 AM – 10:15 AM (Tour & Taxis. Avenue du Port – Haveniaan 86c, B-1000 Brussels; Room S6), is centered around the Small Farmer’s Big Business Partnership (SFBB), whose goal is to engage the private sector for sustainable development and food and nutrition security in ACP countries.
The event will consider different types of collaboration between the private sector, developing countries and donors to support productive growth, competitive innovation and capacity building for smallholder farmers and agribusiness entrepreneurs. The discussions will also be centered around best practices and successful responses to trade-related challenges at national, regional and global levels.
SFBB was founded in 2012 by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, COLEACP (Europe-Africa-Caribbean-Pacific Liaison Committee), the SNV Netherlands Development Organization, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. SFBB and the Technical Centre for Agriculture and Rural Development are working together to reach this goal.
