Dr. Isabelle Niang from the Energy, Environment and Development Team (ENDA TM) presented very practical examples of how capacity building and information interventions in ACP countries can support the adaptation to climate change.
Talking at the 4th Brussels Development Briefing, she argued that communities in developing countries have very limited capacities to adapt to climate change. The human, technical, financial resources and information are scarce as well. ENDA strives to develop and strengthen those capacities at different levels of society. Tools used include training materials, short videos, a fellowship programme, a guidebook for local decision-makers, and support to African negotiators for the UNFCCC.
